On the 4th March 2016, we held a pub quiz and raffle fundraiser for EGBOK Mission. EGBOK (Everything’s Gonna Be OK) is a non-profit organization that enables underprivileged young adults in Cambodia to be self-supporting by providing education, training and employment opportunities in the hospitality industry and utilizing a comprehensive approach with an emphasis on life skills development. EGBOK Mission was founded in 2007 by Corneal University student Ben Justus and provides an “Introduction to Hospitality” training as well as vocational training in the fields of housekeeping and food/beverage service. Since the founding of EGBOK 595 students have completed the “Introduction to Hospitality” training and 163 students have graduated from the EGBOK vocational training. In their own words “EGBOK trains underprivileged young adults to be the future hospitality leaders of Cambodia. 100% of EGBOK alumni receive jobs upon graduation.”
You can see from the photos that it was a fun event. A mixture of general knowledge pub quiz/trivia questions, true false rounds with spot prizes (hands on head/hands on hips), music and picture rounds and large raffle with lots of happy winners!
Many thanks to everyone who joined us for the night and to all of our very generous local business prize sponsors. US$505.25 was raised on the evening. As with all of our fundraisers all entrance fees, raffle ticket sales and any donations are collected entirely for the NGO.
