On the 22nd April, after the Khmer New Year celebrations and holidays we held a Music Quiz and Raffle in support of Safe Haven Medical Outreach. Safe Haven is one of our favourite organisations in Siem Reap providing physical and occupational therapy, rehabilitation, nutritional support, health assessments and education, and ongoing monitoring and support for around forty children with severe disabilities, multiple diagnoses and complex medical issues in Siem Reap province. Many of the children and families they work with would not have access to any support or therapy without the work of Safe Haven’s team. We’ve held fundraisers for Safe Haven in the past and toy donations over the Christmas period and are very happy to be able to support their work in some small way.
The music quiz features music from the 1950’s to the present day with snippets of songs played and the artist and song title required as the answer. Quiz Master Stephen puts together a good mix of songs each time; there is always a lot of singing along to the songs! Thanks to our generous prize sponsors we had 31 raffle prizes and 6 spot prizes to give away during the quiz itself as well as 2 jugs of beer on the house for the winning team! As you can see from the photos it was a lot of fun and despite the busy atmosphere Branston the guesthouse resident cat managed to find a floor spot to stretch out. Many thanks to Stephen for hosting the event and to everyone who came along and joined us for the evening; we hope you had as much fun as us and even won a prize! As with all of our fundraisers all entrance fees, raffle ticket sales and any donations are collected entirely for the NGO. US$370 was raised for Safe Haven Medical Outreach.
